It probably belongs to Emily Tooker, who on Saturday wiped blood off her leg with the gown she wore to her sophomore prom.
After a fashionable, but rough, rugby game Saturday at Fleming Fields, Tooker's dress met its end in a fragrant trash can alongside Bud Light cans and Powerade bottles.
Tooker, a member of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln women's rugby team, donned her formalwear as part of the club's annual prom dress scrimmage.
The senior sociology major was one of the only players destroying their high school memorabilia. Most bought their makeshift uniforms for a few bucks at local thrift stores.
The prom dress game started six years ago as a way to raise awareness about the sport and the group of students who spend their weekends crisscrossing the Midwest to play it.
Tooker worked with a rugby athlete who encouraged her to start playing. She resisted, saying she was too out of shape. But after running a half-marathon, that excuse lost leverage and the senior sociology major signed up.
