We ordered the #586 in purple but received a totally different dress in aqua after being contacted by the seller. We understood that the only size 8 in purple was messed up and chose the aqua. But the dress that arrived wasn't the 586, it was similar but not really. My daughter looked beautiful... -

I can't find a poofy wedding dress. I want one that looks like a fairy tale wedding dress. I want a strapless, poofy, ball gown in white.
The poofy gown style isn't as popular as it used to be - at least that is what I noticed when I looked for my dress a few years ago...but there are some out there. You can even look at some of the Quinceanera dresses in white - they often have a ballroom poofy gown look.

When it comes to donning the big white dress, I’m a reticent bride. I mean, they didn’t drag me kicking and screaming to my first foray into the world of wedding dresses but I certainly wasn’t squealing and flapping my arms when I found out that Sinders Bridal Boutique in Carleton Place, where we arrived at 10 a.m. sharp last Saturday morning, serves the bride before the bridesmaids.
I thought I’d at least get my feet wet watching my girls try on some horrific dresses before it was my turn, you know?
Not so. As soon as I walked into the (albeit adorable) historic house-turned-bridal boutique in Carleton Place’s downtown, I was whisked into the bridal gown show room and my bridesmaids were instructed to each choose a dress for me. I was then guided by the elbow to a crowded dressing room, where I was put on a pedestal (literally and figuratively) for the first time in my life.
I admit I had some misgivings about the whole process. I didn’t grow up dreaming about my wedding, and I certainly had never considered what kind of dress I might wear. After Fiancé proposed I even thought I’d buy a second-hand dress, since that’s the kind of eco-bride I am. And flipping through those glossy magazines doesn’t make it any easier. Sure, the beautiful models look stunning in their glammed-up gowns, but it’s hard to make those dresses translate to a real-world body. Not to mention the whole “white puffy dress” idea struck me as a little cliché. Impersonal. Not me.
