Bendigo events promoted on free mobile app - The Nationals Victoria
Bendigo community groups and businesses looking to promote their events can now use a free mobile app, launched by the Victorian Government as part of an effort to improve access to public information.
VicEvents will also allow Victorians to access up-to-the-minute information on events in the Bendigo area from their smartphone. Users can search, find, browse and locate thousands of events including community events, food and wine festivals, and sport.
The app features Bendigo events such as the White Wedding Dress exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery, Rod Stock & Custom Show, Bendigo Olive Fiesta, and Made in Hollywood: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation at the Bendigo Art Gallery.
Minister for Technology Gordon Rich-Phillips encouraged all Victorians to use the app as a key marketing tool for their events, and to find out whatâs happening throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.
âThe app covers major tourism events as well as community and regional events in Victoria and importantly, itâs free, fast to access, and convenient to use to find out whatâs on,â Mr Rich-Phillips said....
The White Wedding Dress, Bendigo | Polka Dot Bride
Celebrating 200 years of the White Wedding dress this exhibition is showing, in conjunction with the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, wedding gowns from the early 1800′s until today. It may not be widely known that Queen Victoria popularised the wearing of a white gown for weddings when she married Prince Albert, the Duke of Sussex and younger son of a German Duke in 1840. Prior to this the bride wore her best dress and accessorised that for her nuptials. Victoria’s bold statement in white started the trend which in some ways still continues today. Though now not necessarily white, the wedding dress has it’s own unique place in culture.
