Dear Mrs Ffolkes-Abrahams,
I am a Jamaican woman married to a Canadian man. We got married on April 25, 2009. The wedding took place in Jamaica. My husband had been filing for my two children and myself, as far as doing the necessary medicals is concerned. Since then, more than a year now, he hasn't been taking my calls and does not assist financially. I am a single mother and am finding it very difficult to get by. I would like to know what legal action I can take to be able to receive financial support for myself and my children who are minors. My children are extremely hurt and disappointed as I have no idea of the cause of this strange behaviour. Is it possible that I can sue my husband? What is the process given the fact that I am in Jamaica and he resides in Canada? Thanks in advance.
