Gayla Bartlett got to live out every woman’s dream on Tuesday, Oct. 25, as the winner of the Chic Mom Makeover contest savored her shopping spree at Lorraine Roy’s in Danvers. It was almost like a scene out of the movie “Pretty Woman” with personalized one-on-one attention centered around finding outfits that brought out the “Wow” factor for Bartlett’s own sense of style and body type.
Owner Jeanne Hennessey has one objective: to make each and every customer look absolutely spectacular in a dress that will complement her unique shape and style. The team at Lorraine Roy has been dressing women for every social occasion imaginable for over a half century. And finding the big “reveal” outfit for Bartlett that she will show off to the audience at the North Shore Music Theatre during the “Runway USA” event was no exception.
Bartlett was hoping to find outfits that she could wear not only to marketing events for work with Cranney Storage but for other occassions as well. And with a large selection of dresses from some of the nation’s top designers in sizes from 0-32, the shopping spree was a success. Manager at Lorraine Roy, Amanda Smith, helped Bartlett select dresses and pant suits complete with accessories and shoes for her new look.

“There was more vigor, also because of the improved economic situation after the crisis,” he said.
Fashion houses Cavalli and Ferragamo said sales continued to rise in the third quarter, but kept a cautious outlook for the rest of 2010, as many see 2011 as a test year for recovery....
