How should I dress the groomspeople?

My Hubby-to-be is having a best man, a groomsman, and a groomslady standing on his side.

I'm having some difficulty with figuring out how to dress them for the wedding.

Its your wedding make everyone wear what you want...what about a nice chocolate color button up shirt with black slacks, belt and shoes with a chocolate, and black tie.

where can i buy a dress form?

i've searched e-bay and online "discount" stores, but all of them are either really expensive or the shipping is astronomical.
is there any solution? do tailoring places ever have old dress forms? i'm not looking for an antique...

Try a dry cleaners that also does alterations. Another option may be a fabric store. If they don't have a used one to sell you it's possible they can put you on the track to someone who does. Good luck!

The Englishness of English dress
The Englishness of English dress -9- Gilded Brocade Gowns and Impeccable Tailored Tweeds: Victor Stiebel ... two of his watercolour designs from 1927: a black and white evening dress in the ...

Is there a peculiarly English 'look' and if so how does one define it? From the 'traditional' dress of the Victorian rural working class through to the contemporary collections of Vivienne Westwood and a younger generation of London-based designers, notions of Englishness, either real or imagined, have always been at play in considerations of English fashion and clothing. This provocative book explores how far these fraught ideals can be applied to the dress of the past and present. English expressions of taste and creativity have had a profound influence on style over the last three centuries, and the pursuit and subversion of an English 'look' have shaped conceptions of fashionability from the pastoralism of the eighteenth-century through to the eras of Twiggy, Punk and beyond. But are these simply stereotypical characterizations that relate to an imagined 'Englishness', or is there some concrete basis for them? If the former, what has...

Young Designers Tailored For Success

Eight Nassau Community College (NCC) fashion design students debuted custom evening wear in a “project runway style” contest this past weekend as a part of " Simon Fashion Now ," a celebration of style, at Roosevelt Field Mal l.

Students were given a budget of $100 and paired up with a Long Island “mover and shaker.” Clients included Fair Media Council’s Jaci Clement; Peri Appollo from WKJY’s “Steve and Peri Show;” singer Mary Lamont , the Long Island queen of country; and Miss Long Island 2012 Jessica Pinckney.

Each model chose a celebrity design inspiration such as Catherine Zeta-Jones or Sophia Loren.

The students' task was to design a red-carpet look for their model, in a mere five weeks, including fittings and consultations.

The models rocked the runway with an eclectic collection of designs from modern to classic in stunning jewel tones to neutrals.

Alexandra Ireland Wins Best Emerging Designer Award | Glam ...

Ever since graduating from an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology last year I knew I wanted to continue to design and develop my label this year. I feel as though I have really evolved and matured as a designer since then as I have had so many fantastic opportunities and experiences in the industry this year. I have volunteered for the Adelaide Fashion Festival in previous years, and I remember thinking… I’m going to enter that competition one year! After studying for three years I couldn’t have been more ready and determined to enter!

Tell me about your collection?

The collection is titled ‘All the right angles’, and focuses on angled lines and shapes used in sexy, sophisticated silhouettes. The range combines angled skirts, tailored shirts and jackets, and sexy cocktail/evening dresses.

My design process began earlier on this year and was inspired by light and shade in everyday surroundings and the shapes that can be created. I also love to work with contrast, so each piece is all about the fine detailing, and the contrast between pleating and sculptural tailoring with soft prints and sheer panels within precision silhouettes....
