A long line stretched down Leon Avenue Monday afternoon.
Up to 800 people patiently waited to be served Thanksgiving dinner at Kelowna's Gospel Mission.
Executive Director Randy Benson says each year the need for food at Thanksgiving time continues to grow.
"Over the last three or four years we have gone up a 400 or 500 mark on the number of people coming out for these services."
Coincidently Benson says the donations from the community have kept up with the growing number of people in need.
"We have a lot of volunteers coming out and the community has been very good in supporting us."
Seventeen-year-old volunteer Naomi Letnick came with her family to serve those in need but she did more then just put plates on the tables.
"I played the piano (at the Gospel Mission) because I write my own music. I didn't have any sheet music but I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Nancy and her personality fit the classic movie starlet role and her Old-Hollywood-esque theme for her and Derek's winery wedding in Kelowna. As her "Day Of" Wedding Planner, I was there to see all the wonderful details unfold throughout their day. First her sinfully gorgeous cotton candy Vera Wang "Dorothy" gown, which was just too beautiful for words. The "Lace Embrace Atelier" corset (hidden of course) that Nancy wore, a throw back to this era. The Candlelit ceremony in the pyramid of the winery. The Red shoes from "Sasha London", that all the girls wore, the rings from Tiffany's, the dramatic black/white and red theme of the Hollywood Nights decor in their reception. Awesome! Even a Dove Release after the ceremony, with a champagne toasting, reflected both this couples visions and dramatic personality in their wedding day styling. Of course KUDOS to Stage Right Etc. for their incredible follow through on Nancy's theme.
