oh gosh girl, i can relate to this question because i have the same exact style AND PROBLEM. How i figured out how to mash them together was a style called sweet grunge. Its basically a girly hair style (fish tail, braids, waves, curls, etc.

Do NOT get a P-bass. They are not nearly as good as other basses for slapping.

Here are some tips for re-doing your wardrobe:
No matter what your budget is (some stylists charge as much as $150 an hour while others like Melinda Nowers charge $35 an hour), the trick is to take the time to really go through your closet . Do this with an eye toward getting rid of things that are tired, stained, torn, etc., items that dont fit or items that you just dont feel good in. It can be very freeing to pare things down to items you really do wear and feel good in.
If you dont want to (or cant) spring for a wardrobe stylist, consider asking a fashion-forward friend , or your daughter, sister or others who you feel have a good sense of style to come into your closet for a consultation.
Be prepared for your paid or unpaid consultant to be honest with you even brutally honest. I mean, what is the point of them telling you that everything looks good?

Lately I’ve felt like I’m dangling from a piece of thread that connects two of my worlds together.
I live in a constant battle with myself over who I am and what I believe in, where I’m going, and who I’m becoming.
It’s hard growing up with so many different identities because trying to balance them all is a struggle.
Over the years my thoughts on hijab have gone through changes. One minute I love it, the next I hate it. But for me it’s not about whether it’s religiously mandated or not. It’s about doing things for the right reasons. Sometimes I don’t know whether I do it because I “have” to or because I “want” to. And it drives me mad, because here I am telling people, “Hijab is a choice and women choose whether they want to wear it” and there is a little bit of doubt in my mind as I say that statement. Do I really believe it’s a choice? Does that make me a hypocrite?...
