Both will require boning in order to make the bodice properly and for it to stand up on it's own. The first will require exact fit in order for it to look best. The second will give you more room for adjustments.

Fassett's one of a kind designs have been collected by Barbara Streisand, Lauren Bacall, John Schlesinger, Ali McGraw, Shirley MacLaine and Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent.
He has designed over 400 fabrics and published over 15 books.
Born in San Francisco, and currently living in London, 70-year-old Fassett became the first living textile artist to be offered a one man show at the Victoria and Albert Museum, where attendance numbers doubled for the museum during the length of the exhibition.
Fassett said he credits his mother, Lolly.
"I'm a painter, knitter, quill needle artist and designer," Fassett told Vogue Knitting International magazine. "But my approach to every discipline is the same - manipulating pattern and seeing how colour comes alive in different forms."
While in Chattanooga, Fassett and his design partner will be sharing his unique insight and methods on how he has made a creative lifelong career "living, eating, breathing and drinking" inspiration from the patterns, textures and colors of the natural and built world.
